Mrs. Valaisa

Mrs. V comes to District 96 with three years of experience. Having originally received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Elmhurst College, she realized her love of teaching and went back to school. She received her Masters of Science in Art Education from NIU, and continues to take graduate courses to improve her teaching.

In the art room, Mrs. V loves to utilize all types of media and emphasizes personal choice and interest in art making. She believes students should have the ability to express themselves in a safe and comfortable environment, while also learning about how art relates to the world outside the classroom.

In her spare time, Mrs. V loves to run with her golden retriever, read, and of course, paint!
