After students read the whimsical book Rosie Revere Engineer, by Andrea Beaty, they were encouraged to think about inventions in their own life. What could they create that meets a need, or a desire they have always had?
Students looked at patents from well known products, like Legos and Nike shoes to gain inspiration on how to draw their invention. They then started imagining the possibilities, and drawing their ideas on scrap paper.
Once a final design had been chosen, students drew their invention on final paper and colored them using colored pencils, markers, crayons and watercolors. The inventions are imaginative and wonderfully creative. Please enjoy!
