Excerpt from The Lorax, by Dr. Seuss
Students in 4th grade were recently introduced to drawing 3D forms through Seuss-like landscapes. Books like "The Lorax" and "Oh, the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss, which feature many fantastical buildings and scenery, were used as inspiration.
For their landscapes a foreground, middle ground, and background were required, and each of the buildings required shaded sides. Students are currently working on their drawings and will be coloring using colored pencils and chalk pastels.
